ServicesExterior Glass Care

Outside Window Cleaning in Latham

We wash the outside of your windows until the glass is clear, wipe the frames and sills, and brush the grit off your screens. A single person books your visit, takes your questions and goes over the results with you before we pack up.

Clear Glass From the Outside In

Exterior glass picks up more than most people notice. Pollen, dust from yard work, hard water spots from sprinklers and the gray film left behind by winter road spray all build up until the view looks dull, even on a sunny day. We lift that film off properly instead of pushing it around.

We have been in business 5 years, and on exterior glass small habits matter. We use purified water and soft brushes on the panes, hand-detail the corners that poles miss and dry the sills so you are not left with drips running down your siding.

From your first call to the last pane, you deal with the same person. If you want a second-story bay window done or need us to skip the side where the dog stays, you tell one contact once, and it gets passed straight to the crew.

What Your Visit Covers

Exterior glass, every pane
We clean the outside of each window on the agreed list, including upper floors we can reach safely from the ground or a ladder. Divided-light and grid windows get detailed at each muntin.
Frames and tracks
Dirt collects in frames and along the lower track. We wipe these down so grit does not wash right back onto clear glass with the next rain.
Sills and ledges
Sills hold pollen, bird droppings and leaf bits. We clear and wipe them so the window looks finished, not just the glass in the middle.
Screen brushing
We remove screens where they come out easily, brush and rinse them, and put them back. If a screen is bent or torn, we point it out rather than forcing it.
A walkthrough before we go
Your contact walks the outside with you, or sends photos if you are away, so you can flag any pane you want touched up.

Signs Your Windows Are Due

  • A haze in direct sun

If the glass looks fine on cloudy days but cloudy when the sun hits it, there is a film on the outside. That is usually pollen and dust baked on over a season.

  • White spots on lower panes

Sprinklers and hoses leave mineral spots that harden over time. The sooner they come off, the less work it takes.

  • Gritty sills and tracks

Run a finger along a sill. If it comes away dark or sandy, the frames need attention along with the glass.

  • Salt film after winter

Ground-floor windows near the driveway often carry a gray coating once the snow melts. A spring visit clears it before pollen season adds another layer.

  • You are getting ready to sell or host

Clear windows make a home exterior look cared for in photos and in person. They are one of the quickest curb appeal wins.

What Shapes the Price

No two houses carry the same amount of glass, so we price yours after a short conversation about it. What matters most is how many panes there are, how hard they are to reach and how much has built up on them. Your quote lists each item separately, so you know what you are paying for.

Number and style of windows

A ranch with large picture windows takes less time than a colonial with many small grid panes. Divided lights add detail work.

Height and access

Second and third stories, steep slopes or tight landscaping under windows all affect how long setup takes.

Level of buildup

Glass that has gone years without attention, or that has heavy mineral spotting, needs extra passes.

Screens

Brushing and rinsing screens is optional. Including them adds time, especially on homes with many windows.

How often you schedule

Glass kept up on a regular schedule stays easier to maintain, which usually means less time on each visit.

How a Visit Goes on the Day

  1. 1

    A short phone conversation

Share a ballpark window count, whether the house is one story or two, and anything like skylights we should leave alone. You get a free quote over the phone, or we set a time to look if the layout is unusual.

  2. 2

    A date that suits you

We agree on a day and your contact confirms it ahead of time. You do not need to be home for outside work, though we are glad to meet you if you are.

  3. 3

    Careful work on site

We lay drop cloths where ladders meet beds, take down screens and work through glass, frames and sills in order around the house. We watch for loose glazing or cracked panes and show you anything we find.

  4. 4

    Cleanup and check

Screens go back in, cloths come up and nothing is left on the lawn. Then we walk the work together or send photos so you can sign off.

Common Window Questions

Will you wash the inside glass as well?

We work on the outside of the house: exterior glass, frames, sills and screens. If an inside pane is bugging you, mention it to your contact and we will go over the options.

How often do windows need cleaning?

Two visits a year, spring and fall, suit most homes. Spring clears winter grime and early pollen, and fall removes summer dust ahead of the darker months when every bit of daylight counts.

Are harsh chemicals used near my garden?

No. We mainly use purified water with a mild cleaner, and drop cloths go down wherever we work above beds. Your lawn and plants should look unchanged when we go.

What if it rains on my booked day?

A light shower does not ruin glass finished with purified water, so we usually keep the appointment. If heavy rain or wind makes ladders unsafe, your contact will call to choose another day.

Does someone need to be home?

Not for exterior work. Just leave gates unlocked and keep pets indoors. If you are out, we send photos once we finish.
